Alexis Bledel attended the 2010 ELLE Fashion NEXT show in New York looking like a very put-together young actress. The charcoal pencil skirt, the wrap top, the leopard clutch, and the red satin pumps — all polished, all professional.
For Spring '11, Max Azria is all about the modern, effortlessly chic woman. Just a glimpse at the looks he sent down the runway at BCBG, and you'll know exactly what I mean. It's a collection full of vibrant color, floating minis, and subtle cutouts. In essence, it's plain sexy, but minimally so. There's nothing that's overworked or too complicated, just dreamy silhouettes enhanced with thoughtful embellishment. A collection designed with a full appreciation — and total understanding — of what it is to be sexy, simplified. Float down the runway with fluidity, full-on color, and modern femininity.

Mix master Olivia Palermo turned up at the Peter Som show doing what she does best: styling eclectically cool. With neutral, olive-hued basics, she turns up the fun with gold jewels and, per usual, a Fab statement necklace ($119, originally $170). A black, messenger-style tote and lace-up utilitarian booties ($150) finish up her military-chic. Click on the items above to shop a similar look.

What you're about to experience is signature Vena Cava, with an extra exuberant flair. Designers Sophie Buhai and Lisa Mayock — who are adorable in person — worked in their signature quirky prints and flowy fabrics, but also injected bold, feminine flair, with bouts of bright hues that are Spring perfect. One of the most notable updates to their wears? The longer hemlines — it seems the ladylike trend will carry on beyond Fall. But with Vena Cava, the lady also has a cool-chick bone. For accessories, the models wore turban-like headbands, stacked bangles, and chunky platforms. Close your eyes, transport yourself to Vena Cava-land, and imagine frolicking in these pieces — red and camel, funky overalls, ethnic touches, silky fabrics, asymmetrical hemlines — you can't help but feel alive!
Besides recently opening a store called Bookmarc, Marc Jacobs has also been busy putting together a book. Deemed The Men + Women of Marc Jacobs, it's a photo essay featuring shots of over 150 employees, photographed by Brian Bowen Smith. According to the forward, written by Francine Prose, "What these pictures give us is the family album of what may be — what probably is — simply the coolest and the hottest rainbow family on the planet."
This project started over three years ago when Smith accompanied Jacobs on his business trips and various store openings and randomly snapped the staff. The designer makes a cameo, too. "It's not about Marc's clothes. There's a whole book out already like that. It's called a look book," Smith said. Sweet.
